BARBARA SKEPPSTROM Obituary

Barbara H. Skeppstrom of Huntley Barbara H. Skeppstrom, 67, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2012, at her home surrounded by family following a lengthy illness. She was born Nov. 18, 1944, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Curtis and Bernice (nee Anderson) Krause. She grew up in Logan Square and later moved with her family to Des Plaines, Ill. She met her future husband, Craig Skeppstrom while attending Maine West High School and they were married for almost 45 years. She was involved in numerous activities in the Episcopal Church including Marriage Encounter and Cursillo. She enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, music, cooking and activities within the Del Webb community. She especially loved her grandchildren and being present at their various events. Barbara is survived by her husband; her daughter, Susan (Joseph) O'Grady of Wheeling, Ill.; her son, James (Haley) Skeppstrom of Lake Bluff, Ill.; and her grandchildren, Andrew and Jonathan O'Grady and Hannah Skeppstrom. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at One in Christ Episcopal Church, 307 W. Hintz Road, Prospect Heights, Ill. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the donor's favorite charity. Craig and family, I am so sorry to hear of Barb's passing. I have such fond memories of high school sleepovers and Beta Sigma Phi fun times. Sorry we lost touch over the years. especially since I just learned we lived so close since I moved to Algonquin ll years ago. You are all in my prayers.

Craig and Family, my sincere sympathy. I have fond memories of Barb since jr high. Church and High school. She has fought the battle and won the crown. May she rest in peace and I pray all of you will put your faith in God's hands.
