Carol Peterson Obituary

Carol Joan Peterson formerly of Elgin Services for Carol Joan Peterson, 72, of Nicholasville, Ky., were held Wednesday, Dec. 17, at Lighthouse Baptist Church of Nicholasville, with the Rev. Dan Barnes officiating. Born Aug. 10, 1931, she died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Central Baptist Hospital. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Carol graduated from Elgin High School in 1949 and from Moody Bible Institute in 1952. She attended Elgin Bible Church while living in Elgin. Carol was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church of Nicholasville, and served with Baptist Midmissions as home missionary with her husband for 45 years as a ventriloquist, artist and Bible teacher. She was the wife of Philip Edward Peterson of Nicholasville; mother of David Peterson of Nebraska and Cheri (Tom) Peterson Manternach of Iowa; grandmother of Angela and Amy Link, Chris, Sara and Bobby Peterson; sister of Nancy (Louis) Prescher of Illinois and Russell (Marie) Gabler of California; sister-in-law of Louise Gabler of Illinois; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph W. Gabler and Caroline (nee Souster) Gabler; and by her brother, Joseph (Bud) Gabler, who passed away Nov. 1, 2003. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Baptist Church Building Fund in Nicholasville. Arrangements were made by Laird Funeral Home, Elgin.
