EDWARD C. ROSENAU

Edward C. Rosenau of Elgin, formerly of Carpentersville Edward C. Rosenau, 75, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at the Pepper Family Hospice Home and Care Center in Barrington. Ed was born on Dec. 4, 1936, in Chicago, Ill. He was the son of the late Edward L. and Evelyn A. (nee Strohmier) Rosenau. On April 20, 1974, he married Geraldine P. "Geri" Mattson. Geri preceded Ed in death on Nov. 13, 2011, after 37 years of marriage. Ed was a resident of the Carpentersville- Elgin areas for the past 36 years. He was a former 43-year employee of the United States Postal Service where he worked as a letter carrier. Ed was a Navy veteran. He was a railroad enthusiast and a member of the Illinois Railway Museum. Ed is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Eric) Majewski; and grandchildren, Gavin and Morgen Majewski, Kathy Burke, Jakie Burke and Robert L. Rosenau. In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by his daughter, Rita L. Rosenau; and a brother, Robert C. Rosenau. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 10 a.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee. Burial will follow in Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago.
