Edward Szymanowski Obituary
Edward T. Szymanowski born May 3, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Waclaw and Sophia (nee Wojcik) Szymanowski, passed away on May 30, 2025 in Arlington Heights. Ed was a veteran of the Korean War. He loved his career as a Professional Engineer (Mechanical) working for various companies.
He is survived by his wife Janet; daughters, Carisa (Jim) McCarthy and Pamela Gatto (Mike Gawlik); grandchildren, Emily (Tom) Benko, Collin (Taylor) McCarthy, Shaelyn (Scott) Corbett, Morgan (Conor) Morrill, and Matthew (Maggie) Bettencourt; great-grandchildren, Lochlan and Emersyn McCarthy and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Stephanie (Ed) Schmidt, Leona (Nick) De Fotis, Chester (Joan) Szymanowski, Alice (Gene) Bachta and Evelyn (Arthur) Lostumo.
Visitation will take place Friday, June 6, 2025 from 4:00 PM–8:00 PM at Glueckert Funeral Home 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road Arlington Heights, IL. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Saturday, June 7th from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM for final prayers, followed by a procession to Maryhill Catholic Cemetery in Niles, IL for an 11:00 AM chapel service. In Lieu of flowers, donations to MDS Foundation are appreciated. (www.mds-foundation.org)
