Elaine Denman, Loving Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Aunt, Sister and Friend. Born in Moline, IL on September 8, 1937, to Arthur Van Quathem and Elizabeth Licko. She passed away on October 9th, at Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines, IL. She is survived by her 4 children, Maureen Bell, Molly Arrigo, Tim Denman and Rhonda Kladder; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. She attended UTHS in East Moline then after high school she went to Nurses Training at St. Frances in Peoria, IL, where she made many lifelong friends. She then moved to Chicago to begin her career in Nursing. Elaine later moved on to Blue Cross and Blue Shield where she worked for nearly 40 years, working her way up through the ranks into positions that had never been held by a woman back in those days. Gathering respect and friendships along the way but always with the priority of taking care of her children, she had the strength of 10 men and yet always had a hand out in friendship and kindness to all she met. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard. She loved anything flower related, but most especially her African Violets. She was a devoted grandmother and always attended their sporting, musical or theatrical events. In her retirement, she was luckily able to do what she loved most travel and go to the theatre and eat out with cherished friends and family. She loved to play bingo and cards with friends and watch the Chicago Bulls play Basketball, she tried to never miss a game. She will be missed by all that knew her, because all that did, loved her very much. In lieu of flowers, donations to one of Mom's favorite charities, The Lincoln Park Zoo, PETA or The Red Cross, or a charity of your choice appreciated. Her life will be celebrated on Friday October 15th with a visitation at Countryside Funeral Homes and Crematory, 333 South Roselle Rd., Roselle, IL from 10:00 am until time of memorial service 12:00 pm. In loving memory of Elaine. Thoughts and prayers are with all of you. So very sorry for your loss. It was wonderful having her next door for so many years. It was always enjoyable talking with her in the yard about her travels. The Noreen Family

Our sincere condolences in the lost of Elaine. She worked in Payroll, during the time my husband, Ray McCaskey, was CEO. He remembers her dedication to her work and to HCSC.
