Elaine M. Joyce, age 88 of Dundee Township passed away on Thursday evening, March 27, 2014 at the Asta Care Center in Elgin. Elaine was born in Chicago on May 20, 1925, the daughter of the late Rudolph and Blanche (nee Kolb) Mueller. On May 17, 1945, she married Marshall S. "Mike" Joyce. Mike preceded Elaine in death on January 7, 2003. Elaine was a resident of the Dundee area for the past 36 years. She was an avid animal lover and especially very fond of her German Shepherds. She tried at all times to live her life under Ecclesiastes "A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume, Finishing is better than starting and Patience is better than pride." Elaine is survived by her son: Michael, and her grandson: Michael. At Elaine's request she will be cremated. There will be no public visitation or service. Memorials may be made in her memory to the Anti-Cruelty Society (ASPCA of Illinois) 157 W. Grand Ave. Chicago IL 60654.
