Elva T. Nicholson

Elva T. Nicholson of Dundee Services for Elva T. Nicholson (nee Toepel), 95, will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, July 30, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 Jefferson St., Algonquin, IL 60102. Interment will be in Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today, at Willow Funeral Home, 1415 W. Algonquin Road, Algonquin/Lake in the Hills. Born Sept. 29, 1911, at her home in Maine Township, she died Tuesday, July 24, 2007, at St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Mrs. Nicholson was a homemaker and was employed as a registered nurse. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Survivors include her sons, Thord J. (Debbra) of Carpentersville and Harvey E. (Barbara) of Elizabeth, Ill.; daughter, Ruth Ellen Meyer of St. Charles; grandchildren, E. Marie Steta, Dawn M. (Keith) Otte, Scott E. Nicholson, Heather J. Meyer, Nancy A. Nicholson, Michelle L. Meyer and Charles T. Nicholson; great-grandchildren, S. Nicole Gehl (nee Tonkin), Edward Tonkin IV, Timothy Tonkin, Lindsay Steta, Ryan Otte, Jessica Otte and Blake Nicholson; a great-great-grandchild, Anthony Gehl Jr.; and her sister, Hildegard Kudslc of Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thord C. Nicholson in 1986; two sisters; a brother; and her parents.
