Today my mother, Mary Merkel and I just learned of the passing of Gen. We were sadden to hear of her passing but we did want to express our sincere condolences to her family and tell you all how much we will miss her. My mother and Gen both live in the Scarsdale subdivision of Arl. Hts. and both were members of Our Lady of the Wayside Church. My mother enjoyed many years of friendship with Gen and we will both greatly miss her. Sincerely, Dorrie Merkel (on behalf of my mother Mary).
