George McNicol Obituary

George McNicol of Elgin Visitation for George McNicol, 87, will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, at Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. Burial will be private. Born May 24, 1921, in Chicago, to Theodore and Olive (nee Erickson) McNicol, he died Friday, July 4, 2008, at ManorCare. Mr. McNicol was a proud World War II veteran of the Marine Corps Fifth Marine Division and a former two-time president of the Fifth Marine Division Association. Survivors include his son, Tom McNicol of Elgin; daughter, Jeanine McNicol of Elgin; sister, Frances of California; three nieces, Mary, Cathy and Joanne of California; and one nephew, Robert of California. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jacqueline McNicol (nee Morrell); a sister, Gertrude; and a niece, Patsy. In lieu of flowers, please sign an organ donor card and a donation may be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org. For information, 847-741-1128.
