Gerald Reagle Obituary

In Loving Memory of

Gerald Reagle

Celebrating 100 years

of a life well-lived

Gerald (Jerry), a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, is remembered with love and gratitude by all who knew him. Born in Pennsylvania, he answered the call to serve in WW2, joining the Marines and later transferring to Chicago. It was there that he met the love of his life, Dolores Dorn, and during their 74 years of marriage they built a family rooted in love and faith, raising five children in Arlington Heights. Proud members of St. James Church for 54 years, their home was one of warmth, tradition, and unwavering devotion.

Jerry dedicated his career to GATX, earning a master's degree in mechanical engineering. His brilliant mind and relentless curiosity led to multiple patents, each a testament to his ingenuity and contributions to the field. Whether refining industrial solutions or simply fixing things around the house, Jerry had a gift for problem-solving that touched both his profession and personal life.

Beyond his career, Jerry found joy in life’s simple pleasures: playing cards with loved ones, playing golf, cheering on the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and embracing the great outdoors, especially the Boundary Waters.Out on the water, paddling under open skies, he found peace and adventure, sharing stories of legendary catches and unforgettable moments. His passion for sports and card games (namely Pinochle), and his warm yet witty advice remain cherished memories for those lucky enough to have shared in them.

On what would have been his 100th birthday, we honor Jerry’s legacy of love, laughter, and family. His memory lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, a guiding light that continues to shine.
