GLENN JOHNSON Obituary

Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marilyn Johnson (nee Balling); their cherished daughter, Lori (Donald) Mraz; and their beloved grandchildren, Taylor and Jacob Mraz. He is also survived by his sister, Madalynne Orbeck; his brother, Richard Johnson; brother-in-law, James (Mary) Balling; and many nieces and nephews. Glenn was born on November 9, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, to parents, Edward and Neva Johnson, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his brother, Robert. Glenn was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He served aboard the U.S.S. Hancock, where he demonstrated dedication to his country and a willingness to protect and serve. During his working years, Glenn met the love of his life, Marilyn, while employed at the Coca-Cola Company. Their enduring love and commitment to each other spanned six joyful decades. In 1997, Glenn retired from his career as a truck driver, having worked for Zenith Electronics Company and Signal Delivery Service. In retirement, Glenn found pleasure in playing poker with his buddies at the Carillon Lakes Clubhouse, and occasionally, in tournaments at the local casinos. This pastime not only brought him enjoyment, but also provided cherished moments of friendship and laughter. Together, Glenn and Marilyn shared a passion for RV camping, embarking on countless adventures and exploring the great outdoors for nearly 40 years. They found their ideal place at Woodhaven Lakes in Mendota, Illinois, where they created lasting memories and friendships within the camping community. In accordance with Glenn's wishes, there will be no formal services. He will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.
