GLENN VOLKMANN Obituary

Glenn W. Volkmann a 50-year resident of Naperville Memorial visitation for Glenn W. Volkmann, 82, will be from 2 p.m. until the memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1, at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville. Interment will be private. Born Oct. 25, 1927, in Chicago, he died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, at Tabor Hills of Naperville. Mr. Volkmann had been employed in the printing department of the Chicago Tribune for 10 years and was production manager at the Regensteiner Corp. from 1962 to 1990 and Lake Book Bindery from 1990 to 1993. He was an active member of Bethany Lutheran Church, a former member of the DuPage Senior Citizens Council, a member of the Hurrah Seniors Volunteer Organization in the Naperville Public Schools and a member of the Naperville Heritage Society. Glenn is survived by his wife, Marilyn Volkmann of Naperville; a son, Tad (Mary) Volkmann of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, Lori (Tom) Sheehy of Naperville; a stepdaughter, Stephanie (Lyle) Sexton of Ainsworth, Iowa; and a brother, Clayton (Lynda) Volkmann of Longmont, Colo. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and a future great-granddaughter. His first wife, Maxine, preceded him in death. I spent a year working with Glenn at Regensteiner Press in 1982. I enjoyed my time with Glenn very much. He was a gentleman and a friend. My condolences to all.
