Irene Caravello Obituary

Irene L. Caravello of Barrington A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene L. Caravello, 79, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Anne Church, corner of Franklin and Ela Streets in Barrington, where she will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.) in Barrington. Born Feb. 25, 1927, in Chicago, she passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2006, comfortably in her home. Mrs. Caravello was a former proprietor of the Barrington Sweet Tooth Candy Store and an avid bridge player who was involved in many Barrington area bridge groups. Mrs. Caravello's greatest pride was her six children and their families. A strong believer in higher education, Mrs. Caravello was very proud to have her six children graduate college. She also enjoyed all clowns and clown images, and was a great lover of dogs especially Vinny, Reggie, Jake and Toby. Mrs. Caravello loved to laugh and make other people happy. She always said, "celebrate everything in life." Survivors include her children, Thomas (Robin) of Mount Prospect, James (Marlene) of Helena, Mont., Daniel (Mary) of Mundelein, Jean (Raymond) Inserra of Schaumburg, Anthony P. Jr. (Marikay) of Naperville and Nancy (Christopher) Dybul of Barrington; grandchildren, Gina (Doug) Schuyler, Lisa (Matt) Neenan, Dana (Justin) Steinecker, James (Christy), Mark, David and Kaitlyn Caravello, and Joanna and Phil Inserra; great-grandchildren, Blake and Kayleigh Caravello and Thomas James "TJ" Schuyler; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Caravello was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony P. Sr. and by her parents, James and Sarah (nee Maringer) Siggins. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Caravello's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004 or a charity of one's choice. Dear Tony, Marikay, and the entire Caravello Family,

Brian and I are so very sorry to learn of your Mother's passing. I know from all the stories Tony told over the years just how greatly treasured she was by each of you, and how deeply she loved you in return.

All of you, especially your Mother and Father, will be in our fervent prayers.

May you find peace and acceptance through your friends, your family, and your God.

In deepest sympathy,

Lucie
