James Ceriale Obituary

James M. “Jim” Ceriale

James “Jim” M. Ceriale, 78, passed away on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024. Born on November 6th, 1946, in Chicago, IL, he was a longtime resident of Libertyville.

After graduating from the Tool and Die Institute and becoming a master tool and die tradesman, Jim founded Spectrum Manufacturing in Wheeling. For 25 years, Spectrum was an innovator in the field, specializing in precision parts including medical equipment such as hip and knee replacements, and even some work for satellites, leading to the invention of multiple patented devices.

Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Libertyville. He loved golfing, traveling, reading, woodworking, and spending time with family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dianne Ceriale; two children, Angela (John) Deligiannis, and Anthony (Karen) Ceriale; four grandchildren, Dean, Nicholas, James and Christopher; and his sister, Roberta (Tom) Clinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Genevieve Ceriale; his brother, Anthony Ceriale, and his sister, Marianne Pacini. He was a loving brother and brother-in-law, a fond uncle to many nieces and nephews, and a friend to many.

A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by mass at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple Ave. in Libertyville.

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
