James Mazzulla Obituary

James A. Mazzulla of Barrington A Mass of Christian Burial for James A. Mazzulla, 95, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today, at St. Anne Church, corner of Franklin and Ela streets, Barrington, where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Father Tom Bishop will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Barrington. Visitation was from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Road), Barrington. Born March 10, 1912, in Italy, he passed away Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2007, at home. He received his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, where he also played shortstop for the university baseball team. He was a baseball enthusiast. Mr. Mazzulla was a retired labor relations attorney for UPS. He was a member of St. Anne Church. He was a devoted husband and father, who loved his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren. Surviving are his son, James F. (Karen) Mazzulla of Barrington Hills; grandchildren, James F. Jr., Elizabeth A. and John P. Mazzulla of Barrington Hills; and sister, Claire (the late Elmer) Ricchio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne M. (nee Oliva); his parents, Joseph and Rose (nee Fallico); and siblings, Dorothy (Earl) Stieg and Frank Mazzulla.
