Jean L. Hartwell

Jean L. Hartwell of Elgin for the past 12 years Funeral services for Jean L. Hartwell, 78, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, in the Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, in the funeral home. Born Jan. 30, 1928, in Chicago, the daughter of George T. and Jesse O. (nee Howard) Osborne, she passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, in her home. She was an avid little league baseball fan and loved sewing. She bowled in the Chicagoland WIBC for six years. Survivors include her children, Susan J. (Michael) Kilgore of Schiller Park, Timothy E. (Susan) Hartwell of Brown Deer, Wis.; Thomas M. (Cheryl) Hartwell of Elgin, Theodore L. Hartwell of Arlington Heights, Forrest L. "Woody" (Regina) Hartwell of Peoria and Todd A. Hartwell of Elgin; her brother, Howard Osborne; her sister, Shirley Dove; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willis E. "Bud" Hartwell in 2002; son, Terrance; and a brother, George Osborne. Memorials may be made to Provena St. Joseph Hospice.
