SCHAUMBURG - Jeannine B. Wilmes, 84, a resident of Schaumburg for 48 years, passed away on April 13, 2021. Dear daughter of Charles A. and Jeannine H. Svec, she was born May 8, 1936, in Berwyn, IL. She graduated valedictorian of Steinmetz High School class of 1953, studied accounting at University of Illinois, received her B.S. from Northwestern University, and ultimately passed her CPA exam in 1961. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard Wilmes for 44 years (widowed in 2007); the cherished mother of Lisa (Erich) Wilmes, Julie (Jeff) Gudeman, and Jeannine (Eric) Wilmes; the dear sister of Marcia (Joseph) D'Agostino; and Grandma Jeanne to the late Emmahlene (dearly missed since 2010), Nicholaus, Jakob, Rachael, Lyndsey, and Analiese. She is also a fondly remembered aunt of many nieces and nephews, and was especially close to Kathy, Jeanette, Renee, Joe, and Charlie. She will be remembered for her generosity; love of and devotion to family; musical talent; appreciation of books, words, puzzles, and good food; and for her quiet strength, persistence in the face of adversity, and sarcastic wit. Funeral Services for Jeannine will be held Thursday, April 22nd beginning with prayers at 9:45am at Michaels Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Rd., Schaumburg, proceeding to Funeral Mass at 10:30am at St. Matthew Church, Schaumburg. Burial will be at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
