ST. CHARLES - Joann Heisten, 76, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019, at Delnor Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born August 10, 1942, in Geneva the daughter of Leonard and Marie (Deutsch) Heisten. Joann was the glue who held her large family of six girls together. She had tenacity and a great personality. At the age of 11 she was diagnosed with polio. Joann never allowed polio to identify her. She ran her life completely independent, putting the ability in disability. She had a long and successful career as a legal secretary in St. Charles. She is survived by her five sisters, Kathleen Enzenbacher, Barbara Heisten, Leonore Ford, Mary (Richard) Matzke, Deborah (Ned) Koester; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be held 3:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 28, 2019 at Moss-Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St. (three blocks west of the Fox River, one block south of Route 64), St. Charles, IL. Funeral services will begin with prayer 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 29, 2019 from Moss-Norris Funeral Home before proceeding to St. Patrick Parish, 400 Cedar Street, St. Charles to celebrate Mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Geneva, IL.
