JOANN RAE MCLELLAN

JoAnn Rae McLellan a longtime resident of Wheaton Visitation for JoAnn Rae McLellan (nee Beutjer), 79, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday. Oct. 30, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at Wheaton Evangelical Free Church, with Rev. Jack Schrader officiating. Interment will follow the service in Wheaton Cemetery. Born March 8, 1930, in Elmhurst, she died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, in Wheaton. JoAnn graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1948. Mrs. McLellan worked several jobs as a bookkeeper, retiring in 2000 from the City of Wheaton after nearly 20 years. She and Bill had an antique business called 'Treasured Memories' at several locations in recent years. She was a member of the Morton Arboretum, and was previously a member of Wheaton Evangelical Free Church for many years. She loved gardens, flowers, antiques, garage sales, collectables and all things patriotic. She was an avid Chicago sports fan. She loved to travel to historic locations and to spend time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, William McLellan; daughter, Susan McLellan of Phoenix, Ariz.; sons, Scott (Christine) of Hollywood, Md. and Mark (Sharon) of Gainesville, Va.; and her grandchildren, Sean and Bridget, Ian and Ethan. She is also survived by her aunt, Gladys (Bill) Servatius of Woodstock, Ill.; sister, Lynn (Ron) Altergott; sisters-in-law, Irene (Dwayne) Beutjer-Gilliam of Athens, Ala. and Denise Beutjer of Wheaton; and a large extended family. Mrs. McLellan was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ruth (nee Nachtigall) Beutjer; and brothers, Harold and William Beutjer.
