John J. Jindra Sr. of Hoffman Estates Memorial gathering for John J. Jindra Sr., 77, will begin at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at St. Hubert Catholic Church, 729 Grand Canyon Parkway, Hoffman Estates, where Mass will follow at 3 p.m. Continuation of visitation and celebration of life will be held from 4 to 8 p.m., at Poplar Creek Country Club, 1400 Poplar Creek Drive, Hoffman Estates. John was the president/owner of Quality Tire Service in Spring Grove. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the U.S.S. Almaack. A devoted family man, he loved spending his free time with his children and grandchildren. He was the beloved husband for 55 years of Marian (nee Dorr); loving father of Mary Jo (Ken) GaNung, John Jr. (Patricia), Ann (Dan) Saunders and Joann (Bob) Bobula; cherished grandfather of Amanda, Cory and Joni; stepgrandfather of Nicole, Nicole and the late Christine; and dear brother of Veronica, the late Angeline and Emily. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Loyola University Hospice programs, 2160 S. 1st Ave., Maywood, IL 60153. Arrangements were made by Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, Schaumburg. For information‚ (847)882-5580.

I can not begin to express my feelings of sorrow over your loss. I will miss his great smile, kind words and his tireless work ethic. I am a better man for having known him as my neighbor and my friend.

Marion and Mary Jo: Heard about Johnnie's hospitalization through a nursing student of mine. Laverne breish called Saturday to locate Betty. My Mom and Dad And I send our condolences. I teach nursing clinicals on Wednesday evening so I will be unable to attend the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. Regards, Linda Bensfield
