John R. Napientek

John R. Napientek of Palatine for 55 years Prayers for John R. Napientek, 86, will be said at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, April 18, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. A funeral Mass will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of prayers. Interment will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Born Aug. 17, 1922, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, in Arlington Heights. John grew up in Chicago and attended Foreman High School. He proudly served in the Army during World War II and shared many stories with his family. He was employed by the Chicago Tribune for 30 years, and enjoyed his post-retirement working for Schaumburg Toyota. He now joins his daughter Susie, who died March 12, 2009, and her husband, Paul, who died March 24, 2009. He loved his family and always had them in mind as he performed his many jobs. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Marion Napientek (nee Pyka); daughter, Janice Kniewel; sons, Michael (Sandie) Napientek, Peter (Kandie) Napientek and Dan (Shari) Napientek; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. John and Rose Napientek and his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Paul Lefebvre.
