ELGIN - Joseph Castoro, 76, of Elgin, passed away on March 4, 2023, with his family by his side, at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva, IL. He was born on December 11, 1946, in Elgin, IL, the son of James and Rose (Scarlata) Castoro. Joseph graduated from Larkin High School in 1964. He was a Veteran and served in US Army. Joseph had worked for Casco Industries (Custom Aluminum Products) in South Elgin for his entire career. He loved to spend time with his family, and will be deeply missed. Member of St. Laurence Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife: Jean, whom he married on May 21, 1966; two daughters: Anna (Steven) Hupe-Butirro of Elgin and Lena (Timothy) Rink of Bradenton, FL; four grandchildren: Ryan, Justin, Savina and Nicholas; his brother: James (Winifred) and Salvatore Castoro; along with many nieces, nephews, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 11:00am at the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin with Fr. Robert Camacho officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Cemetery, Elgin. Visitation will be on Saturday, at the funeral home, from 9:00am until the time of services.
