JOSEPH ANTHONY "JOE" DISTAZIO

WHEATON - Joseph Anthony "Joe" DiStazio, 77, passed away on July 28, 2023. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 2, 1945, the son of Donato and Jenny DiStazio. He attended Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh and received his B.S. Degree from Youngstown State University. He was employed in Sales at Dukane Precast in Naperville for 18 years. He is survived by his wife, Kathy of 55 years; his children, Danny (Laura) of St. Charles, Christine of Aurora and Michael (Katie) of Wheaton; his beloved grandchildren, Nicholas, Dominic, John, Maddie and Anthony; and his brother, Vincent of Pittsburgh, PA. Joe's passion for youth sports was his favorite past time. He spent many years coaching baseball and football. He was one of the original founders of the Briarcliffe Youth Baseball and Softball Organization, where he started a successful program. He originated one of the first traveling baseball teams in the Wheaton area, "The Green Wave" traveling team which was successful due to the supportive participation of team players, coaches and parents. He was active in the Wheaton Rams Football program as a coach and board member. He enjoyed every moment on the field with his players. He coached Wheaton-Warrenville High School Freshman Team for ten years. He supported every Tiger Football Team level by attending all of their games. His love for the game and its players was his passion. He was a loving and supportive husband, a caring and loving father, a giving grandfather, loyal brother, and good friend. He had an impact on everyone on and off the playing fields. He will always be remembered as "Coach D." Visitation at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E.
