Juanita Whiteside Obituary

Juanita Beggs Whiteside A celebration of the life of Juanita Lou Beggs Whiteside will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 29, at the First United Methodist Church, Vienna, Ill. The Rev. Lance Leeds will officiate. Interment will be in Whiteside Cemetery, north of Vienna. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Born June 26, 1926, in Buncombe, Ill., the daughter of Esco and Gladys (nee Wilkerson) Beggs, she departed this life Friday, May 23, 2008, at her home near Vienna. Juanita was united in marriage to W. David Whiteside at her parents home in Buncombe Oct. 22, 1944. She was a 1968 graduate of Southern Illinois University. She worked as a learning specialist for special education in the Special Education Division of District 214 in Arlington Heights. Juanita was a faithful and devoted member of Vienna First United Methodist Church. She was a member and Past-Regent of the Daniel Chapman Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Juanita enjoyed playing Bridge and traveling extensively with her husband throughout the world. Survivors include her husband, W. David Whiteside of Vienna; daughter, Gail (James) Whiteside Balsamello of Lake Villa; granddaughter, Racheal Ann (James) Hughes of Zion; great-grandsons, Daniel A. Hopkins and Chester J. Hughes of Zion; sisters, Zelma C. (Robert) Elkins of Phoenix, Ariz., and Betty (Lee) Adams of Carbondale, Ill.; brothers, Wayne Beggs (Betty) of Marengo, Ill., Lowell Beggs (Kai) of Morrison, Ill., Bobby Beggs (Marilyn) of Marengo; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Juanita was preceded in death by her son, Dennis David Whiteside and an older brother, Dalton Morris Beggs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 204 Halfway Road, Marion, IL 52959; Vienna First United Methodist Church (Garden Club fund), P.O.
