JULIANNA CATHERINE FIORETTI

1941 - 2016

ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Julianna Catherine Fioretti went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2016. Julianna was born on December 19, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to Mary and Walter Kaczor. She passed peacefully, with her daughter at her side. Julianna was raised by her maternal grandparents from age nine due to her mother's passing of cancer in 1951. At age 16, she graduated valedictorian from Holy Family Academy and received a full four-year scholarship to Loyola University and became the first woman to enter their chemistry program in the late 1950s. During her working years, she was employed by Searle, Nalco and United Technologies. She was a pianist, having performed on stage at Chicago's Orchestra Hall in her early years and also taught piano. She was very strong in her Catholic and Christian faith. She traveled the world extensively from Asia to Europe to the Middle East. Julianna is survived by her only child, Norma Lynn Fioretti, former husband Alphonse Fioretti, sister Janet Kaczor Yavitch, nephew Robert Yavitch, aunt Genevieve Supergan, all Supergan cousins Jeannie, Audrey, Margie, Freddie, Amy and Nina as well as all of her daughter's loving friends, and Bill Todd. She was preceded in death by her parents, niece Eda Yavitch and cousin Alan Supergan. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 3:30 p.m. until the 6:00 p.m. Prayer Service at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. Interment will be private at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL.
