Leonard H. Ziehm Sr.

Leonard H. Ziehm Sr. formerly of Arlington Heights Funeral services for Leonard H. Ziehm Sr., 87, formerly of Sarasota, Fla., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 24500 Old McHenry Road, Lake Zurich. Born May 7, 1915, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at Elizabeth Residence, Franklin, Wis. Interment will be in St. Matthew Lutheran Church Cemetery, Lake Zurich. Mr. Ziehm had been the co-founder of Precision Extrusions, Inc., of Bensenville. He was a Sunday school teacher and church youth leader for 33 years. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Lake Zurich and Good Shephard Lutheran Church in Sarasota, Fla. He was a Captain the U.S. Army during World War II and a 1936 graduate of the University of Illinois. He was a member of the Inverness Golf Club and had been a scout leader for many years after he became an Eagle Scout. Survivors include his son, Leonard Ziehm; daughter, Julie (Joseph) Ruetz; grandchildren, Heidi, Alexis and Kailey Ziehm and Rachel, Jake, Sam and Joey Ruetz; and daughters-in-law, Elena and Jane Ziehm. He was preceded in death by his wife, June V.; son, Richard Ziehm; and brother, Kurt. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.
