GLEN ELLYN - Linda A. Julien, 77, previously of Glen Ellyn, now Normal, IL, passed away on June 21, 2021. She was born March 30, 1944, to Lowell and Arlene (Zube) Hurtig. She married her high school sweetheart Donald Julien on August 8, 1964, in Elmhurst, IL. Linda is survived by her loving husband of 56 years; children, Michael (Peggy) Julien of Sandwich, IL, and Tracy (Steve) Shurba of Lombard, IL. Grandchildren, Shelby (Brandon) Anderegg of Normal, IL, Chloe (13), Aaron (9). Great-Grandchildren, Mia (4), Parker (2). Brothers, Kenneth (Cindy) Hurtig of Lombard, IL, Edward (Marge) Hurtig of Elburn, IL. Nephews, Jeff Hurtig, Mark Hurtig, Matthew Hurtig, Christopher (Danielle) Hurtig; niece, Kimberly (Paul) Reiman; and great-nephews, Jonathan (6), CJ (2), and Caleb (1). She was preceded in passing by her parents, Lowell and Arlene; and grandson, Michael Julien Jr. Linda was a most caring, beautiful woman, who was the families Green Thumb. She loved to garden, grow plants and flowers from seed, and harbored many house plants. She was an animal lover and never met a dog, cat, or cow she did not like. Although she worked for Liberty Publishing in Oak Brook for many years, Linda's passion was her family. She doted on her grand and great-grandchildren and will be dearly missed by everyone. A public visitation/wake will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021, from 3 pm-8pm at Chapel Hill Gardens West Funeral Home, 17W201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace. Memorial contributions may be made in Linda's name to dupageanimalfriends.org to help the animals she could not.
