Boonville, IN
Linda S. Rakestraw, 80, passed away, April 16, 2017 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jimmy Gentry and Joe Rakestraw; brother, Dan Cissna and nephew, John Cissna.
Linda is survived by her son, Todd (Ginger) Rakestraw; stepsons, Tim (Connie) Rakestraw & Mark (Pat) Rakestraw; granddaughters, Victoria (Brandon) Wolf, Lindsey Trafford and Jaclyn (Derrick) Jones; great-grandchildren, Megan, Blake, Owen, Seth, Hayden, Matthew & Ashlyn; several nieces & nephews.
Linda graduated from Boonville High School in 1954. She retired from the Indiana Dept. of Welfare after 40 years and was honored by the Governor for her service. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and an avid UK fan.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017 at BRADLEY'S COLONIAL CHAPEL, 1005 E. Main St. in Boonville. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 hr. before service time at the funeral home. Interment Maple Grove Cemetery. Condolences to the family can be sent to www.bradleyscc.com

The love of a friend is a wonderful thing, the love of a mother is never ending, but a grandmothers love is priceless. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend to me and a wonderful grandmother to my daughter. You will be missed more than you could have ever imagined. I find comfort in knowing that you walk the streets of gold just like we would sing about. Till we meet again; give Joe a hug from me. Know you are both loved, missed daily, and that I am forever blessed to have had you in my life.
