Martin Eifert Obituary

Martin P. Eifert Jr. of Bloomingdale Funeral services for Martin P. Eifert Jr., 70, formerly of Lombard and Wheaton, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at the Schildknecht Funeral Home, 301 S. Lincoln Ave., O'Fallon, Ill. He died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at his home. Interment will be in Lake View Memorial Cemetery, Fairview Heights, Ill. Mr. Eifert had been a resident of Bloomingdale for eight months and was formerly of Wheaton for three years and Lombard for 18 years. He was a bank auditor for Iversen and Associates Inc. of Lombard for the past seven years and had formerly worked for Villa Park Trust and Savings and other financial institutions. Martin was a member of the American Institute of Banking and the Bank Auditors Association. He was a former member of the Villa Park Jaycees and Villa Park Rotary. He is survived by his wife, Charlene (nee Redden); sons, David K. of Carol Stream and Scott of Chicago; daughter, Elizabeth C. (Steven) Harold of Bloomingdale; granddaughter, Amber; sisters, Jerry (Lynn) Givens, Shirley Reeves and Judy (Brian) Homa, all of Missouri; brothers, George (Ruby) and Robert, both of Missouri; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Schildknecht Funeral Home, in O'Fallon. Local arrangements were made by the Brust Funeral Home, Lombard. I was terribly saddened to hear about Marty this morning. I got to know Marty through his audit work at First Northwest Bank. He was very pleasant to work with and always had a good outlook on life. He will be missed.
