MARY D. HELIN

1953 - 2018

EAST DUNDEE - Mary D. Helin, age 65, passed away in the comfort of her home and surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday evening, October 7, 2018. Mary was born on July 16 1953 in Chicago and was the daughter of the late Edmund C. and Margaret A. (nee Lohenry) Provost. Mary was a lifelong resident of the area and a 1971 graduate of Irving Crown High School. She was a very active and faithful member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville. For over 20 years, she served as a CCD Teacher and later served as Director of Religious Education at St. Monica's. Mary was also a member of the St. Monica's Woman's Sodality. Survivors include her husband of 47 years; Darryl. Their daughters; Monica Helin, Carrie (Robert) Barwig and Megan Helin. Her 5 grandchildren; Austin, Shane, Brian, Elliot and Natalie. Other survivors include her brother; Robert (Patti) Provost and sister; Ruth (Randy) Helm as well as her nieces, nephews and countless good and faithful friends. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her nephew; Kevin Mark Provost. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home, West Dundee. Family and Friends will gather for a Memorial Funeral Mass at St. Monica Church, Carpentersville at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, masses would be appreciated or memorials may be made to either Heartland Hospice or St. Monica Church.
