Mary J. Leemputte of Prospect Heights, formerly of Skokie Visitation for Mary J. Leemputte (nee McHugh), 82, will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 5, at the Haben Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Road, Skokie. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 6, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 8100 Niles Center Road, Skokie. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Born May 14, 1928, in Chicago, she died Saturday, April 30, 2011, at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Heights. Mary was a homemaker. She was the wife of the late Peter J.; mother of Mary Ellen Leemputte, Peter G. (Ellen), Patrick (Dania), Michael (Denise), Margaret (Gregory) Kestler and Ellen (Peter) Smith; grandmother of Colleen Kawaters, Ryan Kawaters, Mary Kawaters, Peter Nicholas Leemputte, John Leemputte, Daniel Leemputte, Alessandra Leemputte, Andrew Leemputte, Anna Leemputte, Grace Leemputte, Gwen Kestler, Alec Kestler, Elizabeth Smith, Peter Daniel Smith and Joseph Smith; sister of Joseph McHugh, the late Jack McHugh, the late Margaret Strudeman and the late Bernadette McHugh.
