MARY WAGNER Obituary

January 31, 1934, Decatur, IL - February 8, 2023, Glendale, AZ. Mary Jo was born to Mabel and Harry Kellams. After graduating from Millikin University with her master's degree in music, Mary Jo moved to Chicago, IL, where she enjoyed a singing career with the Chicago Lyric Opera and met her husband Nicholas Robert "Bob" Wagner. They were wed September 14, 1957. Mary Jo and Bob raised two children together in Streamwood, IL, and is survived by them, Rick and Beth (Mike) Piatt. Mary Jo was a loving grandmother to John (Heather) Piatt; and great-grandmother to Amelia, Allen and Makenzie. Her hobbies included acting and singing with local theater groups. Mary Jo always pleased with her beautiful renditions of Mother Superior, Sound of Music and Bloody Mary, South Pacific and more ... Mary Jo retired from her "dream job" as Head Librarian of the Children's Dept. for Dundee Township Library in 1999. Mary Jo was loved by so many. Her love for God, family and friends will endure in our hearts forever. A Celebration of Mary Jo's life is planned for Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Our Saviour's United Methodist Church, 701 E. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60194, at 11:00 am.
