I am shocked! I just read in Sports Car that Max is no longer with us. As everyone has said, a very fast, fair racer. More importantly a wonderful person. Mt condolences to the family. What a terrible loss.

I just found out about this today and although we have not been in touch, Max and I were the best of friends during our days out in Tri-State/Triangle in Angola and coming back to our homes in Chicago from school where Max touched so many of us each day. Words cannot express my sense of loss and my heart goes out to the love of his life, Jenny Brennan along with the Lagod Family and his wonderful friends. I introduced Jenny to Max and Max to Jenny. It was a love that endured and sadly with this news, it is hard to believe all of this at this moment. Max and I have memories that will last forever. I heard about the news from Julie who had sent a message looking for me. I am so sad. Nick Stiglich

Max was a great driver, a great competitor and a great person. We raced against one another many times, and he was one of the few that you could always trust. We were within inches of one another for 19 laps at Mid Ohio, and never once touched. He was fast and he was fair. My condolences to his family. He will be greatly missed. I would like to express my deepest sympathy for the family of Max Lagod and especially for the parents. No parent should ever have to bury a son or daughter. Rest well Max

It pains me to think about such a great person taken away at such a young age. Max & I went to grade school together as well as high school. He was always one of the nicest people I have ever known. This world will miss him dearly.

I saw Max at his first drivers school, and he ws fast very fast in that old Trans Am car. He always had a friendly greeting for all of us in tech. He will be missed.
