MICHAEL H. MIELAK

LAKE ZURICH - A memorial service for Michael H. Mielak, 58, will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10am at Peace Lutheran Church, 1050 S. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich. Michael "Mike" was born on August 16, 1965, in Chicago, to Raymond and Diana Mielak. He passed away at home on Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024, after a lengthy illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Michelle, in 2017. Mike married the love of his life, Michelle Burks on Feb. 12, 1999, in Mt. Prospect, IL. Mike always credited Michelle for saving his life by turning him in a different direction than in his wild, partying days! Mike became the stepfather of Michelle's two daughters, Danielle and Stephanie Burks, and later the guardian of their two granddaughters, Kaylee and Giana Mack. Mike held many jobs in his lifetime, from being a truck driver to handyman. Mike loved fishing, baseball (Cubs!), NASCAR racing, horse racing, video games and rock music (Guns & Roses). His greatest love, though, was for his granddaughters. He did everything he could to love and provide for them. Mike is survived by his granddaughters, Kaylee and Giana Mack. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the support of Kaylee and Giana would be much appreciated and can be directed to Peace Lutheran Church with Mack Fund in the memo section.
