PATRICIA BRENNAN Obituary

PALATINE - Patricia Ann Brennan (nee Kett), 80, went to her rest on May 4, 2023. Visitation for Patricia will be from 3:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. On Saturday, May 13, 2023, family and friends will meet at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton St., Palatine, for a 10:00 a.m. funeral Mass. The interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine, 1185 W. Algonquin Rd., Palatine. After the interment, family and friends are invited to join the family for lunch at Emmett's restaurant, 110 North Brockway Street, Palatine. Patricia "Pat" Brennan was born to Margaret Kett (nee McGeever) and Patrick Kett on June 29, 1942, and was a fond sister to Maureen (Joseph) Ruane. She was a beloved wife to Frank W. "Bud" Brennan; a wonderful mother to Francis Brennan and Michael (Lisa) Brennan; a cherished grandmother to Angelo, Elizabeth, and Maddison; a fond sister-in-law and friend to Frances Sullivan; and aunt to many loved nieces and nephews. Pat earned a Master's Degree from Concordia in curriculum, and worked as an educator in Palatine grade schools until her retirement in 2007. Pat loved music and musicals, going to restaurants, and watching chef shows, but not cooking! She made the best Irish soda bread ever, and liked to bake with her granddaughters. Family was everything to Pat and she enjoyed spending time with her family and indulging her grandchildren. Pat showed us the importance of friendship, and she had so many friends that you could never book her on a Friday or Saturday night. She was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Palatine, where she was a Eucharistic minister and a sponsor for the confirmation of new Catholics. She now rejoins her husband and love, Frank "Bud;" baby Ann and baby Timmy; her parents, Margaret and Patrick; sisters-in law, Peg and Mary; uncle, Charlie; and her best friend, Sally. She will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.

We were truly blessed to have Pat as our neighbor for 18 years. We have many fond memories of chatting out our back doors, eating fresh strawberries right off the plants and her letting us offload anything out of our garden that we had too much of.
We will miss her very much.
Our condolences to her family.

Pat was and always will be one of my favorite people. Let´s admit it... it can be hard to find honest people in this world. Pat could always tell (whatever it was to me straight) and I deeply appreciated her honesty and love for all. She will be extremely missed
