PHILIP EDWARD CRESSLER

Philip Edward Cressler, retired widower, 74, passed away in his home in Virgil, Illinois on July 6, 2023. He was a beloved Papa to his daughters, Melissa R. (Tony) Thryselius and Amber C. (Brian) Albus; and his German Shepherd, Shade. Philip graduated from West Aurora High School in 1967. He was most proud of his 30 years of employment as a Steelworker, Union Supervisor and Accountant at Lyon Metal Products. Music was Philip's "first love," according to Blondie. He was an electric bass and acoustic guitar player in a few different bands from his teens until his 50's. Philip was predeceased by his true and only love, Mary L. (Nelson) Cressler, aka Blondie, who passed away 15 years ago; they can now be together forever. Philip is survived by his daughters, Melissa R. (Cressler) Thryselius and Amber C. (Olczak) Albus; grandson and namesake, Cresston J. Thryselius; son-in-law Anthony J. Thryselius; sister, Rose Ann (Jim) Corbett, and brother, Arthur G. Cressler. Per Philips request, there are no services planned. In his memory, donations can be made to the ASPCA.org or hungryformusic.org. Papa Phil would have said, "Screw that, everyone buy a bottle of Jack and drink up!!!!"
