Philip Zurawski Obituary

Philip Joseph Zurawski

Philip Joseph Zurawski, 75, of Arlington Heights, IL, passed away on September 15, 2025.

He was born December 10, 1949, the son of Jane and Aloysius Zurawski. A proud alumnus of Weber High School in Chicago, Phil's passion for the natural world led him to pursue further education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, earning a degree in Forestry.

But his love for nature wasn't limited to the great outdoors; Phil was also a talented poet, often creating work of his own. Phil's interests also extended to the bowling alley, which showcased some of his competitive spirit.

His contributions to his community were significant as well. As a lifetime Eagle Scout, he was proud to uphold the values of the Scout Oath and Law in every aspect of his life.

Phil is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne Zurawski; children, Laura Zurawski and Luke Zurawski; grandson, Henry Jarrett; siblings, Carole (Bob) Howard and Mark Zurawski; and nieces and nephews, Scott, Michelle, and Robin. He is preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Phil on at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at St. James Catholic Parish, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
