Richard Glueckert Obituary

Richard F. "Bud" Glueckert Jr. of Inverness Richard F. "Bud" Glueckert Jr., 82, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 9, 2009, after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was born June 22, 1926, in Chicago, and was a resident of Arlington Heights for 54 years and Inverness for 29 years. After graduating from Arlington High School, Richard served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Richard and his wife, Mertis were the owners of "Anser Phone" and "Suburban Medical Exchange," which they ran for over 30 years in Arlington Heights before retiring. He was the beloved husband of 61 years to Mertis (nee Hawkins); dear father of Richard F. III (Cindy), James (Sue) and Lisa Slezak; proud grandfather of Lindsey (Brad) Margolis, Jim, Betsy, Thomas James and Katie Glueckert, and Christian and Kayley Slezak; brother of Mary Ellen Borton and John W. (Rosanna) Glueckert; and brother-in-law of Des (Ted) Hull. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Mary (nee Neville) Glueckert; his sister, Rosemary Kinnard; and his brother-in-law, Wilbur Borton.
