CARY - Robert C. Heldmann, age 80. Devoted father of Thomas (Amanda) Heldmann, Laura (Javier) Heldmann (Rojas), and his beloved dog, Wrigley. Cherished grandfather of Justin, Laura Elise and Javi. Dear friend of Pat. Loving son of the late Carl and Margaret Heldmann. Loving brother of Dorothy Earl. Caring uncle of Jeff, Christine, Juliann and Roger. Bob loved life and all the people in it. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, he graduated in 1959 from St. Patrick's High School in Chicago. He served in the United States Air Force. Afterwards, Bob became a faithful and proud salesman for the Pillsbury Company for over 25 years. He earned his bachelor's degree from National Lewis University while working. He was an avid Chicago sports fan and golfer as well as a true man of faith having served as Eucharistic Minister and volunteer for both St. Theresa and Holy Family Catholic churches in Palatine. Bob provided comfort to others through his work with his therapy dog, Wrigley. He will be truly missed. In state at Holy Family Catholic Community, 2515 W. Palatine Road, Inverness at 9:30 AM Friday, until time of prayers at 10:15 AM. Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM. Private interment Monday at 12:30 PM at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. My sympathy to all of Bob's family. Bob and I met many years ago in the days of the Tarragon Club (Catholic Young Adults' Club). Bob was devoted to his family and will be missed by all who knew him!
