DR. ROBERT J. LUBER M.D.

INVERNESS - Dr. Robert J. Luber, M.D., 82, passed away on November 12, 2022. Beloved husband of over 50 years of the late Shula. Loving father to Elana and Zachary. Cherished brother of Kathryn (Dr. Irwin) Weiss, Daniel Luber (Karen Wickman) and Joan (Brent) Jacobs. Devoted son of the late Eli and Frances Luber. Bob graduated from Northwestern University in 1962 (B.S. in Chemistry) and from Northwestern University School of Medicine in 1965. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Cook County Hospital in 1970. Bob practiced ophthalmology in the northwest suburbs of Chicago for 41 years; he treated multiple generations of many families. Bob was respected by his peers, and he had many loyal patients who appreciated the skill, professionalism and kindness with which he provided their care. When he wasn't working, Bob relaxed through reading, movies and yard work. But most of all, he cherished his relationships, and the time he spent, with his beloved Shula and their children. Throughout his life, Bob was devoted and attentive to the needs of his family and his patients. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bob's name to your charity of choice. A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 9 AM -12 PM at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067.
