Susan Duerr Obituary

Susan Elaine Duerr of Geneva Visitation for Susan Elaine Duerr, 47, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Yurs-Wittenberg Funeral Home, 1771 W. State St. (Route 38), Geneva. There will be a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday, at Strawn St. Rose Catholic Church in Strawn, Ill., with the Rev. Dick Bruskill officiating. Interment will be in Strawn Cemetery. A memorial visitation will also be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, 100 W. Maple, Fairbury, Ill. Born April 12, 1958, in Fairbury, to Jerry and Elaine (nee Stiver) Kuntz, she died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Rush-Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago. For more than 18 years, she was employed by MND Transportation Inc. in West Chicago. She was past president of the Wheaton American Legion Post #76 Women's Auxiliary. Susan is survived by her sons, Shaun of Milwaukee and Josh attending college at Illinois State University in Bloomington-Normal, Ill.; her mother, Elaine of Fairbury; brother, Richard (Luanne) of Normal; and sisters, Julie (Ron) Starcher and Beth (Kevin) Russell, both of Fairbury. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Kuntz. For information, 630-232-7337.

I knew Susan from the many of the Legion events(steak fries, Bingo, Scout auctions, etc.), which I have been attending for years. She was such a wonderful person who contributed so much to the community. I extend my deepest sympathy to the entire family. She and all of you will remain in my prayers.
