Thomas V. Marino

Thomas V. Marino formerly of Elk Grove Village Funeral services for Thomas V. Marino, 81, of Dunedin, Fla., will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road (three blocks south of Biesterfield Road), Elk Grove Village. Born in Chicago, he died Sunday, March 3, 2002, at his home. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery Mausoleum, Arlington Heights. Mr. Marino had lived in Dunedin for nine years and prior to that had lived in Elk Grove Village for 35 years. He was a retired employee of the Ampex Corporation in Elk Grove Village. A World War II veteran, Thomas had been awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. He was a member of VFW Post #9284 of Elk Grove Village, the VFW Post of Tarpon Springs, Fla., and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Thomas was the beloved husband of the late Vera F. Marino (nee Avicola), who passed away in 2001; loving father of Thomas A. (Jeanette) Marino, Joann (Richard) Cavaliere and the late Virginia (Thomas) Terravova, and stepfather of Robert (Karen) Lambe and Judith (Lawrence) Stenzel; dear brother of Robert (the late Mary) Marino, Emily (the late Julian) Jorgensen, and the late William (Mary Lou) Marino and Marie Entwistle; proud grandfather of 19; and great-grandfather of 13.
