A Celebration Remembering the Life of Mr. Craig Smoot, 57, of Talladega, will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Eric Richardson officiating. Interment will commence immediately following the service at New Maryland Church Cemetery. There will be a public viewing for Mr. Smoot on Friday, May 29, 2025 from 3-7 p.m. at S.M. Goodson Funeral Home. Professional services entrusted to S.M. Goodson Funeral Home and Crematory-Talladega. Mr. Craig Smoot, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend was born on November 25, 1967, to the parentage of Nathaniel Cook and Willie Mae Chapman Smoot. He is remembered fondly for his unwavering spirit and profound love for his family and friends. Craig accepted Christ at a young age while attending New Maryland Missionary Baptist Church in Alpine, Alabama. He received his education in the Talladega County School System, culminating his studies at Winterboro High School. Throughout his life, Craig exhibited an extraordinary commitment to his family, creating a legacy of love, laughter, and warmth that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him. Craig's unconditional love for his grandchildren created warm memories that will last forever.Craig loved cars and he had a special flair for storytelling while enjoying his mancave, often sharing his passion for classic westerns, particularly "Gunsmoke," listening to music, and his strong support for the Alabama Roll Tide, which endeared him to many. As time winds its course, we look ahead to a future where Craig's spirit transcends this earthly realm, as he embarks on his journey towards eternal peace. On Friday evening, May 23, 2025, Mr. Craig Smoot entered the heavenly realm joining his parents, Willie Mae Smoot and Nathaniel Cook, granddaughter, Brooklyn Turner, brothers, Paul Smoot, Arthur Smoot, Billy Smoot, and Leroy Smoot. Craig leaves behind a legacy woven with love and laughter to forever be remembered by his five sons, Sharuntae Marquez (Amber) Turner, Martin Morris, Malcolm Morris, Evan Smoot, and Nyzsa Smoot; his daughter, Breanna Henry; three sisters, Shirley (Melvin) Chatman, Carolyn (Robert) Stamps, and Wanda Smoot; grandchildren, Shariyah Turner, Khloe Turner, Karsen Turner, Kylin Morris, and Aspen Henry; loving fiancé, Regina Culver; and a multitude of loving and caring nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. In reflecting on Craig's life, we celebrate the moments filled with love and compassion that he so generously shared.
