Earl Posey Obituary

VINCENT - Funeral services for Earl "Top Cat" Posey, 73, will be Saturday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Cropwell, with the Revs. Willie Frazier, John Ragland, W. J. Posey, Richard Fair, and Minister William Posey officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery, Cropwell. Mr. Posey will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service. Mr. Posey died Thursday, March 4, 2010, at his residence. Mr. Posey was educated in the St. Clair County School System, retired from CSX Railroad and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Cropwell. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearlie Posey; sister, Verlince Posey; and brother, Wilbert Posey. Survivors are his wife Nellie Posey; two daughters, Evangeline (Robert) Allen and Elvilena (Eddie) Posey both of Vincent, two sons, Everett (Tomeka) Posey of Gadsden and William (Anedra) Posey of Pell City; three sisters, Parine Fomby, Viola (Jerry) Alford, and Joyce Posey, all of Vincent; four brothers, Harold (Joann) Posey, Frank (Clydie) Posey, both of Vincent, Robert (Linda) Posey of Alpine, and Henry (Linda) Posey of Pell City; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.

Knowing my Grandaddy was a special tribute... my grandaddy may have been a quite man but being around him u got to know alot about him. I thank god for the days i had wit mi Grandaddy on this earth. I enjoyed the time we had going out to eat and jus riding around. He was not only a grandaddy to me he was also a father to me that i could talk to anytime i need to. I thank for putting me in a wonderful family that i had a Grandaddy and Grandmother who would take me i their arms and give me the love i needed. I love mi grandaddy and knows that his in a better place. I pray that mi Grandmother keeps doing what she has been doin cause everyone knows she a strong independenting woman who loved her husand. I will continued to pray that are family gets stronger and know that are grandaddy, father, husband is in a better place. Love Grandaddys Bird!! (lakita)
