Ed Hollis Obituary
Visitation is at 10 a.m., until the time of service at Kilgroe Funeral Home in Pell City.
Mr. Hollis died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2014.
He is preceded in death by his wife Marcelyn Treadwell Hollis.
Mr. Hollis is survived by his son, Dan Wayne (Alisa) Hollis; daughter, Kathy Hollis Ripka (Craig) Smith; grandchildren, Ryder and Oakley Hollis and DanDale (Kerrie) Newton; great grandchildren, Dakota and Kylie Newton; half-brothers, Jimmy Hollis, Larry Hollis, Freddy Hollis, Claude Hollis and Richard Hollis; step-brother Robert Ward and half-sister Joyce Poe.

Kathy and Danny, I am so sorry about your Dad. Ed was a very special person to me as all of you are. I have so many memories from spending weeks with you during the summer and all the trips to Panama City we took with our families together. Love you both and know Ed left a special memory for anyone he came in touch with. Praying for you, Punkin.

I knew "Mr. Ed" from the days he ran his candy truck route. He came to my daddy's store at Fayetteville once a week and I plundered through his truck looking for the newest sweet treats. He was a good man. I miss those days, those times, and old friends like Mr. Ed. I am sorry for his passing.

Mr. Hollis has been a positive force in our County, both in government and in community service. We would all do well to follow his example. Thank God for lives like his that reflect Godly standards.
