Ms. Ella "Wease" Jackson was born on July 10, 1927, to the late Mattie Comb Jackson and Jim Jackson in Talladega, Alabama. At an early age Ella received Christ and joined Kelly Springs Baptist Church in Munford, Alabama where she served faithfully until her demise. As a youth, Ella attended Carver School in Talladega County and later became a Certified Caregiver professionally taking boundless care of many homebound patients. Not only did she love taking care of the sick, but Ella also loved raising and taking care of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the children in the neighborhood. Ella had a few hobbies that she loved but singing was her passion. She had one special nephew, Mr. Houston "Sonny: Jackson that meant the world to her and she would always sing to him on his birthday. His birthday never passed without his Aunt Ella singing to him. She loved eating with her favorite dish being sweet potato pie. While caring for others always came easy, before losing her eyesight, Ella also enjoyed sewing and making clothes. Most of all, Ella loved the Lord and praying daily was a must for Ella. On Tuesday morning September 21, 2021, after God had blessed us graciously with Ella for ninety- four long earthly years, he felt it was time for him to peacefully close her eyes one last time to this earthly world, accept her new wings and fly to her new eternal home on high joining her parents, Jim and Mattie Jackson, sisters, Louise Jackson, Gertrude Bradford, and Christine Jemison and brothers, Joe Jackson, Marvin Jackson, Buddy Jackson, and Hubert Jackson. Ella leaves to cherish her loving memories; one daughter, Laverne Phillips of Talladega; one son, Howard Earl (Yvonne) Jackson of Talladega; one sister, Ruth Wills of Atlanta, Georgia; four special grandsons, Quintavious Jackson, DeMarcus Curry, Elijah O'Neal and Isaiah Stockdale; five grandchildren, Howard Jackson, Jessica Phillips, Erica O'Neal, Kiera Jackson, and Lyric Palmore; eight great-grandchildren, Dazayha Curry, Christen Curry, Khloe O'Neal, Imereke Jackson, Jayceon Jackson, Kaisleigh Williams, and Journey Palmore; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
