Geary E. (Gerry) Shephard

Celebration of Life for Mr. Geary E. (Gerry) Shephard, age 74, will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 1:00PM. at Tallassahatchie Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Childersburg, AL. Rev. Curtis Seals, Officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 8:00AM to 11:00AM at Community Funeral Home. Mr. Geary Shephard was born November 28, 1946 to Frazier and (Lokie) Pauline Shephard in Childersburg, Alabama. He gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Willie Mae Hamilton, to this union one son was born, Kelvin Shephard. Geary graduated from Phyllis Wheatley High School, Childersburg, Alabama. Immediately following graduation he joined the United States Army. He was proud to have served his country. Mr. Shephard was a Vietnam Veteran. He would often talk about the years he served in the military. He was preceded in death by his mother, Pauline (Lokie) Swain, father, Frazier Shephard, brothers, Lewis Shephard, Ben Shephard, Houston Shephard and Henry Swain. He leaves to cherish his memories his son, Kelvin (Betty) Shephard of Fultondale, AL; four sisters, Christine (Otha) Calhoun, Lois Thompson both of Washington, DC, Shirley Stokes of Los Angeles, CA; Janice Shephard of Childersburg, AL; one grandson, William Shephard of Sylacauga, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
