Jessie Eldora "Frazier" Simmons

Funeral services for Jessie Eldora Simmons (Frazier), 82, will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. The Rev. Hardy Reynolds, Jr. will officiate. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham. Ms. Simmons died January 20, 2012 in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Simmons, Sr. and Lily Easley. She was a member of Mount Canaan Baptist Church. Before moving back to Talladega, she lived and worked in New York for over twenty-five years. Her favorite hobbies were quilting and singing. Survivors are her six children, Carol Frazier (deceased 1/27/12) and Jacquelyn (Jeffrey) Cantey of Bronx, NY, Roger Frazier of Chicago, IL, William (Vanessa) Frazier, Jr., James (Shirley) Frazier of Talladega and Anita (Fred) Traylor of Madison; brother, Douglas Simmons of Chicago, IL; sisters, Elinor Jones of Las Vegas, NV and Ermener Arceneaux of St. Croix, VI; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren. Terry's Metropolitan Mortuary will direct the services.
