June L. Atkinson

Funeral service for June L. Atkinson, 93, will be Sunday, August 8, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Don Neil officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Mrs. Atkinson died Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery, AL.
She was preceded in death by her husband, McCutcheon George Atkinson, and brother, Gene Lessley.
She is survived by her two sons, David G. Atkinson, Greg G. Atkinson; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth Kate Atkinson, and Anna Claire Atkinson.
June was broker and owner of Atkinson Real Estate, LLC. She attended the University of Alabama, worked as a secretary at Parker Fertilizer, and worked at East Highland School to assist students with English. She began selling Real Estate in the early 1970's. Her and her husband purchased Atkinson Real Estate from Earl Atkinson in 1973.
Mrs. Atkinson served in many volunteer capacities throughout the years including, President of the Sylacauga Chamber of Commerce, President of Talladega County Board of Realtors, President of the B.B. Comer Library Foundation, a past member of the Talladega County Board of Realtors and National Association of Realtors for over 43 years, and a past member of the Sylacauga Beautification Board and Sylacauga Arts Council. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that memorials be made to 1st United Methodist Church, 105 E Spring St, Sylacauga, AL 35150.
