Ruth McManus Obituary

Funeral services for Ms. Ruth Catherine McManus, 77, will be Friday, January 14, 2011, 11 a.m. at Usrey Chapel with Dr. Sam Tate officiating. Burial will follow in Lancaster Memorial Park, Lancaster, South Carolina. Ms. McManus died Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Citizens BMC, Talladega, AL. Ms. McManus was a longtime member of Central Baptist Church. She was retired from Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind. She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas E. & Vadie McManus, and brothers, Thomas E. McManus, Jr. and Jack B. McManus. She is survived by her nieces, Sharon McManus King, Susan McManus McCaskill, Sandra McManus Orndorff, and Michele McManus Howard. Visitation will be Friday, January 14, 2011, 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Usrey. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AIDB Foundation. Online condolences at www.usreyfuneralhome.com Usrey-Brown Service Funeral Home will direct the service.

I've know Katherine since 1972. She and my mother were friends and work together at the Industries. We would ofter meet with other friends at her home for cook-outs and visits. She was a super lady and a good friend to all who knew her. Rest in peace, Catherine. My mother awaits your companionship once again in heaven as does so many of your friends who've gone home before you. I pray your family finds comfort in knowing you'll have eternal peace in heaven.

I meet Catherine in 1979. She was a very sweet lady. She used to babysit my daughter Connie for me. She loved to read to her on her front porch. She was loved by so many people. She will be missed. Another angle to watch over us.
